CDT Seminar Series – January 23, 2012 Session
The next CDT Seminar will be held Monday, January 23rd, at the Petit Science Center in PSC 124. Please join us at 12:45 p.m. for coffee and cookies to hear our outside speaker Dr. John Zhang from the School of Chemistry and Biochemistry, Georgia Institute of Technology. His talk is entitled “Fundamental Understandings of Magnetic Properties for the Applications of Nanoparticles”. Dr. Zhang’s current research interests focus on understanding the fundamental relationships between the chemical composition/crystal structure and the properties of novel materials. A multidisciplinary approach including inorganic/physical chemistry and solid-state physics is employed to pursue the synthesis and physical property studies of nanostructured materials. The applications of these materials in advanced technologies and in biomedical science are also actively explored.
I look forward to seeing you there,
Jenny J. Yang, Ph.D.
