The next CDT Seminar will be held Monday, November 12th, at the Petit Science Center in PSC124. Please join us to hear Dr. Kaihong Su from the Purdue University. Her talk is entitled “Novel anti-neutrophil autoantibodies as biomarkers for systemic lupus erythematosus”
Dr. Kaihong Su obtained her Bachelor and Master of Science degrees from Nankai University, Tianjin, P.R. China. She came to the United States for graduate study in 1993 and received her Ph.D. degree in 1998 from the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB). She received her Postdoctoral training in Dr. Robert Kimberly’s laboratory at UAB working on Fc receptor biology and genetics in SLE. She joined the faculty at UAB in 2003 and relocated her laboratory to the University of Nebraska Medical Center (UNMC) in 2008. Dr. Su’s research focuses on the molecular mechanisms of autoimmune diseases and the identification of novel prognostic biomarkers and therapeutic targets for these diseases. Her research is currently funded by several NIH grants. Besides research, Dr. Su is actively involved in classroom teaching and training graduate students.
