CDT Seminar Series – March 13, 2013
The next CDT Seminar will be held Wednesday, March 13th, at 1:00pm at the Petit Science Center in PSC124. Please join us to hear Dr. Jinjun Shi from Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Harvard Medical School. His talk is entitled “Self-Assembly Nanotechnologies: From Bioanalytical and Biophysical Studies to Drug Delivery Applications.”
Dr. Jinjun Shi received his B.S. in Chemistry from Tsinghua University in 2000, and his Ph.D. in Chemistry from Texas A&M University in 2008. He is currently a senior postdoctoral research fellow in Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Harvard Medical School. He is also a research affiliate at Harvard-MIT health sciences and technology. Dr. Shi’s research lies at the interface of biotechnology, biomaterials, and nanomedicine. He and colleagues developed novel immunonanotherapeutics based on polymeric nanoparticles, which formed the foundation of a biotechnology company Selecta Biosciences and resulted in the clinical trial of an anti-nicotine nanoparticle vaccine for smoking cessation. His current research on nanoparticle-based siRNA delivery and cancer therapy is supported by NIH K99/R00 career development award. Dr. Shi has authored 18 papers and is an inventor of 6 issued/pending patents.
There will be a Meet and Greet at 12:45pm with coffee and cookies.
I look forward to seeing you there,
